Personally Speaking

My name is Carolyn Semedo. I'm a certified coach and a person who's been where you may very well be. I've struggled with many of the same issues that so many of us do.

Over the past ten years, my (now) husband and I relocated to the DC area, far away from the support of family and friends. I changed careers, we got married, bought our first house, had one child and then another, I changed careers again, got laid off, changed careers again and started my own business, had another child, started another business...

Throughout these transitions, I adjusted to life as a spouse, then a mother of one, then two, then three, as a self-employed person and business owner and struggled not to lose myself in the process. I struggled to balance finances, work, family life and my own personal interests, until I just got tired of all of this struggling!

With the help of a great career counselor and a tremendous life coach, I made some really big and empowering changes in my life that have led me to where I am today ~ peacefully happy!

And, while it wasn't always easy, I've learned so many invaluable lessons along the way. Because I've been there and done some things the hard way, I'm well equipped to navigate your course with you, wherever it takes you. Through coaching, I became really clear about my own personal values and how to honor them in my everyday life.

Through coaching I have come to appreciate the value of choice: sometimes it's a matter of understanding that we are always at choice, and sometimes it's taking the leap to make a choice. Living in choice is incredibly powerful and empowering, and as your coach, I can guide you towards experiencing that for yourself!
